What actually moves the price on a boiler
- Which boiler, and how much output the house needs
- Where it is going, and whether the flue has to move
- Whether the system needs flushing before a new boiler goes on it
- Whether the pipework, controls and gas supply come up to current standards
On a bathroom it comes down to the size of the room, the tiles you choose and how much comes out before anything goes in.

Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Mick Worthington is our Gas Safe registered engineer and he does all the gas work: boilers, heating, cookers and safety certificates. Gas Safe registration is a legal requirement for anyone touching gas in your home, and you are entitled to ask to see the card.
Can you come out today?
Often, yes. It is the thing our reviews mention more than anything else. One customer wrote that we were at the house within 30 minutes. Ring us and we will tell you honestly when we can get to you, rather than book you in and not turn up.
How much is a new boiler?
We do not publish a price, because the honest answer depends on which boiler, where it goes, whether the flue moves and what state the existing system is in. We come and look for free and give you a proper figure.
Do you do the bathroom as well as the boiler?
Yes, and it is the same firm either way. Sam and Dave do the bathrooms and kitchens, and Mick handles the gas. That means one number to ring and nobody blaming anybody else when the two jobs meet.
Who actually turns up?
Mick, Sam or Dave. Names on the shirts. Askern Plumbing is a family firm, so you get the same faces every time rather than whoever was dispatched.
What areas do you cover?
